A tribute to Donna

I have had a day of very mixed emotions.

My job involves editing the Huddersfield Examiner's website and when you read today's front page article I think you will understand.

http://www.examiner.co.uk/news/local-west-yorkshire-news/2008/01/10/the-best-daughter-in-all-the-world-86081-20334578/

I have spoken to Donna's mum and emailed her husband Greg.

I just wanted to say again to Donna's family that I am thinking about you all at this very difficult time and thank you for all your kind words.

Adrian

Hi Baldy! I'm working on the translation of my work on photopheresis(FCE) : it's harder than what I expected it to be!!Just a little anticipation of my answers to your question:as far as the rsearch has taken us , it is not clearly define the inside mechanism of action of the FCE, so there is no specific marker that can say how much the treatment is working and consequently can allow to decide how frequently and intensive must the treatment be done.Anyhow the research go on.I'm intentioned to study and develope a specific nursing project to take care of people that are living this hard and long experience, because if we can learn how to deal with cronicity, we have began winning our fight against the disease.A big hug!Congratulatios for your engagement and a big CIAO from my husband Mirco.

Crewe managed to lose one-nil ( pathetic score line ) against Leeds!

Take Care and Best Wishes to you and your family

I am an old school friend of Donna's and like all her family and friends, I was extremely shocked and saddened to hear of her terribly untimely death. I attended her funeral service today which was an extremely moving experience and it was an incredible demonstration of her character and courage that she had planned the whole service when she knew that the end was near. Greg mentioned your blog when talking to him after the service and having read about what you have been through yourself, I thought your words were very comforting and your courage and strength was obviously an inspiration to Donna. I wish you all the best in your ongoing treatment.
